Prayer and Praise Report
Volunteers!
We are so grateful for you being so patient with us at Wings. We have been busy throughout November and are just now giving you our Prayer and Praise Report.
Susan and I went into the club in Tyler and had a great visit with several ladies! We were so grateful to the Green Acres Church group and the Brandon Sunday school class. They donated the funds for us to have items for gift bags for the 20 ladies we got to visit with Saturday the 23 of October. She and her husband and I had a powerful prayer time in the car before Susan and I went in.
There are several encounters we had. One lady named Sh….. was so glad to see us and we talked to her about her boys and her family. She and I, Karen got to talk about the goodness of God and verses that were helpful to me and she pulled out her phone and showed me the bible verse app that she had on her phone. She told me that she reads one each day and that a lot of days the verse really helps her to conquer something she was going through, or helps her to not be anxious about something she was stressed about. She talked and talked and we listened and then shared. This time there was not a single lady who we felt close up to us or reject our presence there. Please pray for her and that we will see her again at the Christmas outreach on the second Saturday of
December. Please also pray for Wi…….. and Br……. who we talked with about getting together for lunch someday, possibly after Christmas.
Several ladies who have come out of that work place, Wings has been helping recently. Our dear friend Ni……. and I will be meeting soon to work on her testimony. She is really full of faith and desires to minister to people she knows who are struggling in their lives like she did. Please pray for her physical health because she actually broke her neck in 2 places about 9 months ago. She fell down the stairs in her former apartment but didn’t know about her neck condition but it has gotten worse and worse over the months. Her disability insurance has helped her to get some relief from some treatments from a chiropractor that have helped lately.
The most recent person we have been helping is a lady who has actually visited my church over the last few years. She and her 2 children, 11 yr. old boy and 8 yr. old girl, lost everything they owned in a house fire 2 days ago. Sunday the 14, was our son’s wedding day. That night Al….. and children lost all clothes, shoes, and everything as their house burned down. They even lost a puppy and the kids were devastated. I went over to where they are staying temporarily, and Al… told me that today her daughter was outside and a puppy came out of nowhere and sat on her lap. She said its almost like God is replacing their deceased puppy with a new one.
They still need some clothes, and some things that the children can play with while they are waiting to get a place of their own again. The children are still in school, and Al…. said her job is being very kind and told her that she could have time off to regroup. The main thing they need asap is another temporary place to live until she can secure another rental home. If your women’s group or church would like to help this precious family, or have any information about a place for them please contact me at: 903 618 0235, wylj618@yahoo.com.
The clothes sizes are boys clothes and shoes: 13-14 husky pants, small man’s shirt, size 6 shoe, girl pants and shirts , 7/8, shoe, 13. Al… wears size 13-14 pants, large shirts, and 7 shoes.
Also, please do not forget that our dear friend Dewayne Patton is possibly up for parole this year. He is the younger brother of a dear lady who was one of the first ladies to come out of the club profession. I testified at his court case 15 years ago when he was sentenced. I have been communicating with him all these years by letter and visits. He became a Christian in the early years in prison and has been the main go to for the rest of his prison dorm for someone to lead prayer groups and teach the bible to the inmates. He has always wanted to join Calvary Commission bible school if and when he gets paroled. The process involves letters from as many people as possible. The more letters of recommendation, the better chance he may have to be paroled. I sent another posting last time with some copies of letters I have received from him and from the parole board describing how to write a letter in his favor. The due date is december 1. You do not have to know him personally but rather stand with me, Karen, in my support for him. You can text me if you need any more info on him. Wings has funded the distribution of many great books to him over the years. We have sent Christian biographies, bible studies, Christian view of history, christian living, bibles, etc. , most of which he has requested by name.
Let me know if you will be writing a letter and look back at the last post here and see the attachments. If you need more info just call me or email. 903 618 0235 wylj618@yahoo.com.
Blessings!
