Outreach Valentines

Susan Cooper and I had a great Outreach to the Visions club last Good Friday. I can’t think of a better day to visit the lost than the day Jesus gave up His physical life in this world for the sins of all! Her husband, Kelly chaperoned us in prayer in the parking lot. We felt the prayers of many because the ladies were very receptive to us. I believe God gave us real concern for them individually and we mentioned a few ‘outside the club’ services we would like to help them with and they seemed open to that.I hope to take some of them to lunch together to continue ‘chatting’ with each and getting to know their lives better. Susan loves to baby sit small children and one dancer has to take her child out of town for a quality sitter on the nights she works. Susan graciously offered to help her in that area and opened her home to this young mom. Ki…., the mom, seemed surprised but said she would call if she needed her.Ro…. was in the dressing room before anyone else when we arrived and we got to talk alot with her. I feel like she drew us into herself without fear of being judged. I have her number and plan on calling her and Ka…. about have lunch some day hopefully in the next 2 months. Please pray for me that I can find the right time for this because my schedule is so packed! One other dancer Gy…..was so sweet and said she actually thought of me that day wondering if we would be coming in. She is such a precious small young girl and I would like to get to know her better and serve her needs.Vi… was a new dancer we met and she was very friendly as well. El…. was a dancer I met at T.O. , the other club that has closed and not reopened. She looked familiar to me and she said she had met me there. There were also two barely 20 year old sisters who actually looked like twins but they were not. One had the bright red color this generation uses for their hair. They were very friendly as well but have just moved back to this area from West Texas. They are trying to do some courses at the junior college. One of the ladies we always see, Pe…. and I had a great conversation about church and the bible. I had explained to the ladies that if they were interested in going to church on Easter that the card we included in the gift bags had names of churches our volunteers go to and cell numbers if they wanted to go. Pe… told me that she used to read the bible and go to church years ago but doesn’t do that anymore. I told her we don’t talk much about church when we come into visit them, because its not about church, its all about Jesus. The important meaning of church is not known to very many ladies who live life outside the church, and if women will give their lives to Jesus they will see ‘church’ in the right perspective. Church is important to people who know Him! One of the ladies I didn’t see there, whom I took to get groceries during the pandemic , was home with pneumonia as told to me by Pe….I actually got a text from her this week and I think she wants to go to lunch. Please pray that we can work that out! Lots of things going on with people! Please pray for Ni…. and some of her friends with whom we have done bible study. She is overcoming a lot of baggage from the past and making new commitments and boundaries for her life to be free from the past lifestyle. She has had some more trauma recently and is so excited about living the overcoming life with Jesus! Recently she sent me her testimony so that I can type it up and give it to a local pastor to use in his ministry. We also had a very generous gift for this young woman from GABC’s missions department. They paid to fix her car brakes and included 4 new tires!!! Many thanks to Jason and the church because this woman is also on disability and although she has no car note for her vehicle, these items were in bad shape making it hard for her to do her supplement job . I am so pleased to see churches reaching out to our East Texas community and helping with the needs of the lost and believers who have lost their way! Please pray for Ma…, Ho…. and Sa…. These are ladies I am trying to have some prayer and bible time with. Sa…. just moved to Jacksonville and hasn’t made a decision to follow Jesus in her life but has thought about it. Also, pray for Christy who is going to be taking some medical courses this summer. Wings volunteers have given some funds to be applied to this cause and we are glad to help her be able to increase her job qualifications to get better paying employment.I will post again with some more reports from the Outreach and with some pics from our sweet friends at CCF church who supplied us with the cutest gift bags ever!

Blessings!

  1. We have several praise reports to give these last several weeks. One of the ladies whom I met through Nicole, our friend who has brought many ladies to do bible studies with us, has a celebration going on. Several months ago she called me and asked for help finding a good child custody lawyer. She has 2 little boys who were taken from school here in East Texas, by their drug addicted biological father in another state. She was so distraught. Several years ago she took the boys and left him and her strip club job after she took herself off of drugs and came to Tyler where she had some friends and relatives. I do not deal with child custody cases very often and would not have had anyone to recommend to her but for God.! He is the greatest networker I have ever seen!
Several years ago a friend of mine, Shirley Anderson, who used to coordinate the Wings gift bags for Outreach, and I attended a Chaplain Training and Shirley completed hers and worked for CASA for a time. There she met a lawyer who was really good in his field as well as being a Believer. I called Shirley and she gave me his name and number. I called him and went with our friend and her new boyfriend to meet this lawyer for the first consultation.
She was able to raise the money for the lawyer and a few weeks ago employed him to take the case. I had been wondering what the outcome might be when she called me last week ecstatic and crying and laughing all at the same time on the phone! ” I got my babies back! We had the court case yesterday,” she said, and he has to deliver them to the police department Friday! I am sooo grateful to you for finding him for me. It wouldn’t have happened without you”.! ” And it wouldn’t have happened without the Great Networker, our wonderful heavenly Father,” I said. ” I am sooo excited! He also threw in a bonus in that the dad has to pay her law fees which helps her out alot!
I continue to be amazed, but not surprised at how God works! Praise Him!
We are going to take the boys to celebrate at the zoo this week. And she is going to begin coming to a bible study we will be doing at another ladies house in Bullard.
Nicole has made a move out of Tyler to Jacksonville, which is an answered prayer because she needed a less expensive place to live after quitting the club almost 2 years ago. She will be coming to the bible study as well and is a great networker herself because she is so personable and hungry for more of God and to see others come to know Him and be as excited about spiritual things as she is! Praise God for His work in her and through her! She is kind of like my most reliable student in the faith.!
Sara Neptune, mother of Lexie, the little girl who has battled brain tumors for 6 years is still hanging in there with her husband, 4 kids and embarking on a new family business that will support their needs and allow for all the hospital trips to Houston for their daughter. God is blessing them even though they were both let go at their jobs because of having to miss work to attend Lexies doctors appointments. She has not gotten any worse but they will be finding out in July at the next appointment the status of the cancer. Please pray for this dear family. Sarah and Aaron are very strong in their faith and are hanging on to Him through out these hard times. Wings will be helping them with finances as they work through building the business until it covers their living.
Please pray for Christy as she begins her Medical Assistant training that Wings is helping with books, tuition, supplies etc. If it wasn’t for a few donors who have been generous with giving, we would not be able to help these ladies.
Please Pray for us as we go into the club the last weekend of June. The women’s bible study at Green Acres Baptist Church, with Cindi, and Crystal leading, have supplied us with much needed gift bags for this Outreach! Many thanks to these women and to Jason Smith, GABC Missions, who began helping us several years ago. I hope to post several pictures of their assembly and note writing of gifts for these ladies in Visions club.
Please pray for Ka…..Rox…..Pea……Sto……and many others we will be visiting with there.
    Blessings!
    Karen for Wings
